Multi-Layer Labels – Wet and Dry Peel

These consist of multiple layers of materials that are adhered together to form a single label.

As an FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) registered business, you can rest easy knowing we have implemented sustainable practices throughout our entire process.

Multi-layer labels are a type of labelling solution that consists of multiple layers of materials, typically two or three layers, that are adhered together to form a single label. These layers can be made from a variety of materials, such as paper, film, and foil, and can be printed with different graphics, texts, and barcodes.

The unique feature of multi-layer labels is that they provide additional space for information, promotions, and regulatory requirements without increasing the label’s size. The layers can be peeled back to reveal additional information, providing a space-saving solution for companies that need to include a lot of information in their product packaging.

We offer two and three-layer label options, giving you a maximum of five printed sides of either paper or synthetic material.

Multi-Layer Labels We Produce

The two main types of multi-layer labels are Wet Peel and Dry Peel.

Wet Peel labels are designed to peel and reseal, usually with a permanent spine along one side (like a book). We can also incorporate an easy-peel adhesive tab for easier access.

Dry Peel labels are specifically designed for promotional and coupon labelling applications. When the top layer of the label is peeled back, it separates cleanly from the bottom layer, leaving no adhesive residue on either part. This makes it an ideal solution for applications such as vouchers, promotional offers, or for collecting labels to redeem a promotional item.

Multi-Layer Labels are a great option if your product label has limited space. Mult-layer labels allow you to seamlessly add additional information to your product without increasing the size of the product or label.

Applications of Multi-Layer Labels

Some examples of uses of multi-layer labels we have seen in the past include:

  • Extra legislation information
  • Detailed Instructions
  • Ingredients
  • Additional languages and translations
  • Terms and Conditions
  • Warning or side effects

Multi-Layer labels are particularly common in the healthcare, pharmaceutical and medical sectors, where customers need to know a large amount of information about a product, without having a huge label.

Options

  • Labels can be die-cut to any shape.
  • Perm spine / Hinge position (including barn door option)
  • Easy peel section/tab

Print Options

  • Single-colour or full-colour print on all pages for the 3 or 5-page options.
  • Enhancement of the label by using Cold-Foils (metallic or holographic). Note foils can only be added to pages 1, 3 or 5.
  • Digital print options for both small and medium quantity orders or where variable data is required for promotional labelling.
  • Variable data (numbering/bar-coding and unique numbers) can be printed on any side of the label pages.
  • Combination printing using both Flexographic and Digital technology for specific purposes.
  • We offer a solution to almost any requirements you may have no matter how complicated it may seem. Our presses give the ability to produce multilayer labels both single and multiple passes using our special re-registration equipment. To take advantage of this, several complex wet peel constructions use combination print, both traditional flexographic and digital to be as cost-effective as possible whilst enhancing the quality at every phase.
